Experimental Software Musical Instrument on Android Platform Combining Sampler, Synthesizer and Sequencer
Kučera, Karel ; Kavan, Jan (referee) ; Dlouhý, Dan (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is the realization of the application as an experimental software musical instrument on the Android platform. The implementation is partly based on the draft elaborated in semester work. The application is designed for tablets and smartphones. It combines functions of sampler, sequencer and synthesizer and contains built-in effects. With this features, it is possible to create new sounds, sequantions and songs. The applications is programmed by visual programing language Pure Data. The graphic interface is created by the MobMuPlat platform. The thesis is consists of three parts. The first part is a theoretical introduction, where are discussed, the theory of digital audio signal processing, principles and types of sound signal synthesis, effects and electronic instruments. Furthermore, the Pure Data and MobMuPlat platform features. The second part is an updated design of the graphical interface and there are discussed the functions of individual graphic elements. The third part describes implementation of the application by Pure Data
Experimental Software Synthesizer and Sequencer
Fadieiev, Heorhii ; Indrák, Michal (referee) ; Dlouhý, Dan (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is devoted to an experimental software synthesizer and sequencer. Its main goal is the realization of an experimental electroacoustic musical instrument based on a design created within the semestral thesis. The unique characteristic of this synthesizer is the possibility of assigning to each tone a different waveform from the field of subtractive synthesis, but also amplitude and frequency modulation, as well as the possibility of creating a complicated rhythmic structure. The work is divided into several parts. The first one deals with the collection of theoretical knowledge focused on the topic of sound synthesis, MIDI and software program Max. The second part of the work presents the design of an experimental instrument taking into account the block diagram of the synthesizer, its sequencer and generator. The next part of the work deals with the implementation of the instrument, describes its appearance, GUI, data storage in its memory and analyzes the patch of the synthesizer. The last part describes practical experience and general characteristics of the resulting instrument.
Experimental Software Musical Instrument
Konečný, Dominik ; Indrák, Michal (referee) ; Dlouhý, Dan (advisor)
The goal of this document is a design and realization of a synthesizer combining additive and subtractive synthesis in Max/MSP. The synthesizer will distinguish itself from others with its high variability of amplitude envelopes, low frequency oscillators (LFO) and an option of micro interval tuning and inharmonious spectrum. There will also be an option to setup the parameters by typing a text string.
Granular Synthesis in Music Production
Experimental Hardware Musical Instrument, Converting Data from Sensors to Selected Musical Parameters
Šindler, Stanislav ; Kavan, Jan (referee) ; Dlouhý, Dan (advisor)
Abstract Aim of this thesis is to documentate theoretical and practical process of designing digital hardware syntetizer using Teensy microcontroler and add-on bus Teensy Audio Shield, with the help of Audio System Design Tool. Software for this synthesiser Product of this thesis will be complete device with user interface realized with rotational knobs, buttons and display unit. Also a removable module measuring temperature, intensity of light, and humidity, which will change user specified sound parameters, will be designed and constructed.
Experimental Software Musical Instrument on Android Platform with Ability to Control Parameters by Text Conversion
Rychtecký, Václav ; Indrák, Michal (referee) ; Dlouhý, Dan (advisor)
The purpose of the thesis is to create a mobile application on the Android platform, characterized by creation of sound using a text captured by a built-in camera of the device in combination with synthesizer, sequencer and sampler. The implementation is partly based on a design prepared within a semestral thesis and is divided into several parts. The first part briefly describes the types of syntheses, the Android operating system, the Pure Data programming language, MIDI and the Android library for controlling Pure Data. The second part deals with the design of the application and the third part describes the implementation and especially the functionality of the application which is created using the programming language Kotlin and IDE Android Studio from JetBrains in combination with the language Pure Data.
Experimental Software Musical Instrument on Android Platform Combining Sampler, Synthesizer, Effects processor and Sequencer
Bezůšek, Marek ; Schimmel, Jiří (referee) ; Dlouhý, Dan (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to design and realize experimental software musical instrument on Android platform, combining sampler, synthesizer, effects processors and sequencer. The application is designed for smartphones. The application's experimental approach is in granular synthesis applied on recorded sounds with a combination of synthetic sounds produced in wavetable synthesizer and with applied effects.
Real-Time Analysis of Audio Signals
Řezáč, Martin ; Schimmel, Jiří (referee) ; Černocký, Jan (advisor)
The goal of this thesis is creation an application, which can perform real-time fundamental frequency tracking of incoming audio samples. According to detected frequencies, the program generates MIDI messages, which are sent to chosen MIDI device. First, the reader is introduced to the issue of fundamental frequency tracking. The following part describes individual methods, especially the one based on spectral analysis of a tone. A description of used technologies is also a included in this part of this thesis. In the following part, the implementation and testing of application are described including opinions of several musicians about this product. At the end, the whole work is concluded and the possible further development is outlined.
Parametrizable Music Instrument for Mobile Platforms
Řezáč, Martin ; Mlích, Jozef (referee) ; Černocký, Jan (advisor)
The goal of this thesis is to create an application, which will be primarily used as three-axis parametrizable musical instrument, respectively a modifi ed MIDI controller, suitable for Android devices. Firstly, several products, which are available on the market, are reviewed and the reader is introduced to the problematics of audio synthesis, available technologies and typical Android device potential. The next chapter is dedicated to application design. Few designs are mentioned with focus on the chosen design concept. A part of this chapter is also a speci cation of the original concept, its implementation and advantages/disadvantages. The next part is dedicated to implementation and optiomalization of some of the critical points. Also the tests are evaluated including a survey about application usability. At the end, the whole work is concluded and the further development is outlined.
Program for generating two-dimensional Erlich tuning
Dvořáková, Anna ; Indrák, Michal (referee) ; Jirásek, Ondřej (advisor)
This thesis documents the creation of a program generating two-dimensional Erlich tuning systems. Using set parameters it computes the frequencies of each tone and enables the user to immediately play in the chosen tuning. The app works both as a plugin and as a standalone software.
